As I recollect my childhood love of classic cars, I remember a time where the first editions of the corvette and GTO where two of my favorite cars I adored and cherished. With the right knowledge of mechanics and a bunch of innovative creativity these cars could be transformed into machines of envy and also works of art. During the funny car movement-many car enthusiast began to experiment in urban funk out cars-remodeled to become instantaneous classics from a throw back time. This indeed was a grand period in the beginning history of pimp that ride.

Many of my friends began to exchange engine parts for mufflers and V-8 engines which would funk out a vehicle to the max. During this period-the early seventies ushered in a new wave of car fans. And the enthusiasm did not end there-car and motor magazines were the big hit and rave among car mechanics and anyone whom wanted to learn how to revamp a beat up old ford or GTO.

At the present-to pimp any type of vehicle will cost thousands of dollars and someone that will have knowledge in what to do and not to do. The present infatuation with the classic vehicles of a by-gone era has transformed these incredible machines into eye candy-and also have become very valuable commodities. And now this phenomenon has an appealed to a new generation of car enthusiast world wide.

The current car shows have introduced a new audience into the world of hot rides that display cool rim designs and everchanging body designs. So, now we have the merger where old school meets the new school-where the show "Pimp My Ride" got its inspiration and beginning.

The innovators of these extraordinary designs also feature interiors to die for, and the best time to sport your ride-is the summertime.

I grew up in a time where the romanticism with revamping a classic car was a fantasy and dream for many. Both of these vehicles both won awards while being showcased in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I have always been fascinated to talk with the people whom have painstakingly transformed these vehicles into works of art for car fans and the novice viewers to enjoy.
