In some dorms or dorm floors known for heavy partying, it's not unusual to find broken beer and alcohol bottles in the showers. You may have to take a shower before the janitors show up to clean up the mess on Monday morning. Always wear flip flops or other water shoes to protect your feet when using public showers in dorms.

Just as you would wear those same flip flops at a public pool or in the gym shower, use them in the dorm showers too.

It is not easier to leave your door unlocked because you;re visiting a friend down the hall and you don't feel like carrying your keys.
Locking doors applies to when you are out of the dorm room and when you are in the dorm room, especially on weekend nights when there are more guests in the dorms.

Living in close quarters and sharing a bathroom with other people is the easiest way to catch whatever is going around that week. Always wash hands and use hand sanitizer when sharing a bathroom with other students. Be courteous when you have a cold or a stomach virus, by washing your hands and not spreading around the germs.
