A Review of The Wolf's Den Restaurant in Wesley Chapel, Florida

Visit the Wolf or Invite This Wolf to Your Own Door

At the new Wolf's Den Restaurant, you'll want to savor the food, not wolf it down. If you live in New Tampa or Wesley Chapel or Lutz, you may want this Wolf to come to your door. With this Wolf, you can have dinner (delivered), not be dinner. If you're traveling
on Interstate 75 north of Tampa, this home-style diner will be a welcome respite for the road-weary, at exit #275, just one mile east on Route 56.

In Wesley Chapel's Seven Oaks Plaza a small gastronomic miracle has occurred that will please locals and visitors alike - an independent, owner-run restaurant in the tradition of the diners in Long Island and New Jersey and (who knew?) Wisconsin. The owners closed their Wisconsin restaurants and moved to Seven Oaks a year ago. When a bagel-themed chain franchise in Seven Oaks plaza closed several months ago, the Wolf's Den opened quietly and has been growing its grateful clientele ever since.

Without so much as a grand-opening marketing push (at this writing, 8/3/08), neighborhood word-of-mouth has lured herds of the hungry into this den of dining delights. With its motto of "family meals at a fair price," the Wolf's Den is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It serves breakfast all day - beginning at 6:00 AM, with "commuter express" to-go breakfasts priced at $2.00-2.50. By the end of August, the Wolf's Den will be open 24/7.

I've occasionally had spotty service when no experienced waitstaff was on duty to guide the newbies. Maybe try them for a weekend breakfast or brunch. The waitstaff then is usually very experienced.

We tried the place for the first time and I must say we were not real impressed. Food was pretty good but the service was lousy. No refills on our beverage, bread was left off our dinner etc. Most likely will not go again.
