Burns are pretty common, and many people have trouble tackling them. For most, it's just a matter of waiting over a painful week or so (or more depending on the severity of the burn). However, you don't have to wait the long and painful wait for the burn to heal itself as there are many natural cures for burns available today. And most of these natural cures for burns are available right where they are needed the most - in the kitchen. Many people also have some misconceptions about what natural cures for burns actually are. For example, I read somewhere that one of the best natural cures for burns is to but your hand (if the burn is on the hand) in a bowl of ice, or put ice of the burnt part. Do NOT put ice on a burn. It can actually cause frostbite on the burnt area and make it much worse. Although cold water is an acceptable way to counter a burn. Natural cures for burns , like all other forms of treatments must be verified and confirmed.

Here are the best natural cures for burns that have been confirmed and verified to be safe and that work:

Honey - This is a great natural cure for burns. Either dip the burn in a cup of honey, or apply some honey on the burn to quickly counter the burn. This is one of the best natural cures for burns out there. You might want to alternate honey and cold water. Even if the burn was deep, honey will take care of it and it won't be painful at all. Many people have reported that even deep burns didn't hurt at all by the next day after applying honey on them. Another use of honey as one of the natural cures for burns is that of countering keloids. Even if you have a keloid scar from a surgery and not from a burn, regular application of honey will remove it, or significantly heal it within a week or two. Honey is one of the best natural cures for burns even if you can't use it instantly. If the burn is more than a couple of days old, honey will still work wonders.

We always have on hand, also in the kitchen, vitamin C solution for treating not only burns but also every kind of topical problems such as cuts, bruises, rash, boils, mosquito bites, stings etc. In my country, but not in the UAE, such a very effective solution is available OTC in the form of pediatric Vit C drops (meant to be administered orally to infants and small children). This product has functioned admirably as the primary and most effective "first" aid in my household and the families of all my friends and relatives i.e. wherever it has been tried and tested.
