Gadgets for Christmas, there are plenty of options, so how to decide on which gadgets to invest in this holiday season?

Gadgets on the web are going fast and it's no surprise to retailers. After all, many gadgets are connected to the internet and internet users just want to make the most of their internet. Also, they tend to be the savviest when it comes to electronic investments and gadgets that will most likely provide functionality to their businesses or hobbies.

Consumer electronics are definitely the hottest commodity online this holiday season. Released on Monday by Nielsen//net ratings, Web traffic was 12% higher than last year. Evidently, 19.2 million visitors fanned out among the 120 big online retailers.

The highest category was consumer electronics which was 211% higher than a week before. Apparel grew 117% in one week and Home & Garden grew 87%. The least growth occurred among jewelry and shoes, items that consumers typically want to try on before purchasing.

The biggest boost in online sales was given to Best Buy, Circuit City and Wal-mart. EBAY and Amazon had the most shoppers overall.

There were an additional 16% of shoppers on eBay last week, an additional 45% of shoppers on Amazon, an extra 191% of shoppers on Wal-Mart's site, and an additional 107% at Target's site. Best Buy saw the biggest jump during the week of an additional 311% increase of online shoppers. The eBay increase was most likely so low because there are already so many people shopping online with eBay that it would be nearly impossible to make as high of a transition as Target or Best Buy where so many consumers previously shopped in store.
