Frugality may have once been a the trait of the financially inept, but with increasing expenses bombarding the middle class from the gas pump to the Starbucks cup economical intuition has inherently become praiseworthy. After all, every well-run enterprise knows that saving costs is just as good as earning more. For that very reason, here are some simple but unconventional means of cutting costs to areas of your life you may have neglected in ignorance:

Keep Your Insurance Bundled.

When it's possible, try to keep your insurance policies bundled together using the same company. For example, take a look into getting car insurance with the same firm you use to insure your home. Doing so has two beneficial perks. First, you'll likely save money from the company itself which undoubtedly should be reason enough. Trimming up to 15% off of the combined annual auto and home insurance is feasible. Second, if you by unfortunate chance manage to have an accident, you're less likely to get dropped by the company since your insurer will want to keep all your business.

Stay Away From The Mall:

The mall can definitely be an attractive social spot to tend to when nothing else comes to mind. But needless to say, unless your self-control can prevent your typical spending habits every time you go window shopping it might be all the wiser to look into other activities. During the summer it would make sense to find some interactive activities that can be conducted outdoors. If you're having a difficult time finding something else to do, then it might be time to re-evaluate how pathetic you've become.

Buy Your Airline Tickets After Midnight:

Perhaps it's a relatively unknown fact, but the best airline fares typically go to those who call just after midnight, East Coast time. Most airlines typically decide whether a flight is full around this time and will begin to slash prices if it's not. Expect airline fares to drop from anywhere between $50 to $400 on a given call. Naturally, this is for same-day flights.
