Using the Parking Structure and Tram at the Disneyland Resort
For those visiting the Disneyland Resort in Southern California for the first time, there are some aspects of getting around within the resort that would be helpful to know ahead of time. Some aspects of getting around within the
resort can actually be a little confusing, and knowing what to expect and where to go ahead of time can save guests a lot of time and frustration. If you will be visiting the Disneyland Resort in Southern California for the first time, the following information regarding how to get around within the resort might be really helpful to you.
How to get from the parking structure to the tram loading area- Because there are only three hotels located on the Disneyland Resort property, most people visiting the Disneyland and California Adventure parks stay off site at a hotel located within the surrounding area of Anaheim or Buena Park. Those staying on site at one of the property hotels can get to the parks easily by taking the Monorail. However, the process for getting to Disneyland and California Adventure is different for those coming from off site hotels. Before California Adventure was built, guests simply parked right in front of the Disneyland entrance and walked or took the tram to the main gate. It is a little more confusing now. When guests arrive at the Mickey and Friends parking structure, they will first pass a ticket booth. Be aware that Disneyland charges a daily parking fee, currently that fee is $11. Guests are then directed as to where to park. The parking structure is huge, so it can be confusing to first time visitors as to where to go once you are parked and out of your vehicle. By looking around, one can see the parks. You will need to walk through the parking structure in the direction of the parks. Usually there are many other people going in the same direction that you can follow. At one end of the parking structure you will find a series of escalators that will take you down to the tram loading area.
