HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTEN

KRISTEN LEE

AUGUST 8, MY KRISTEN LEE
Miriam Torres

On a night like no other
That happened 22 years ago
On my kness I asked God
To be a Mother
I felt a tiny spirit enter my body
And thought I know, I know

Nine months later, you came as expected
But you were in the wrong position
Showing your tiny feet first
Which the unseen forces had elected
The soon to be retired Doctor
Is on his toes and corrects this

He turns you around
So you could be born
On the 8th day
Of that August morn
Truly God was a friend to these three
Grandmother, Mother and Child

He made it a day of gladness
Not sadness
For you and me
Your Grandma is long gone
But how proud she would be
Of My Kristen Lee

A Blessed Child from the start
Who has grown into a beautiful young lady
One with a good natured heart
Full of respect and responsibility
A daughter, A friend
That's our Kristen

I'm happy with Daniel as your mate
You know he could be my son
This poem is almost done
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my child
That sprung forth from me
My Kristen Lee

I wrote this poem after Kristen and I saw Mandy Moore's film "How to Deal".It was the last film we saw before she moved out.I wrote it in March 2004.I was experiencing the "Empty Nest Syndrome".There are references to the "Simple Life" which I was watching at that time.I believe Adventuress Ritchie is Nicole Ritchie. There's also a play of words indicating Paris Hilton and of course Paris the country.

Empty Nest Syndrome
Miriam Torres

She can snag an Aston Kutcher
But she's not into the Butterfly Effect
She likes simple normal family life
She likes Mandy Moore's film best
The simple life and something oh
So Moore....
Adventuress Ritchie,Perhaps a Hilton,
A Paris Stay
Would ooze this sadness of
Lost friendship away
You were part of me
And they tore you from my soul
An easy friendship
We don't have to work at being
Mother and Daughter
Easy........
And when she leaves
Its the Empty Nest Syndrome
Thats Life, Thats "How to Deal"
