The Little Puppy that Stole Our Hearts

When books are brought alive on screen, they become much more appealing: unless of course, you're a booklover who prefers imagination to take its own course. Loads of cartoon books have been turned into animation programs with great success. This section is devoted to one such absolutely
delectable cartoon series called 'Clifford's Puppy Days'. It traces back the time when 'Clifford the Big Red Dog' was a tot.

The series saw quite a bit of success in various spheres of production. It was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Outstanding Achievement in music, sound editing - live action and animation, in 2006. Henry Winkler also won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program. The cartoon saw little Clifford being accompanied by his friends, Norville- the bird, Jorge- the dog, Flo and Zo- the cats, and Daffodil- the rabbit.

Other popular characters in the series are Clifford's owner/friend Emily and her buddy Nina. Popular television artists Grey DeLisle (Emily) and Masiela Lusha (Nina) gave the voiceovers. Masiela Lusha was also nominated for 'The Best Performance by a Young Artist in a Voiceover Role', in 2004. The 'Clifford's Puppy Days' phases over the first two years of the pup's life, after which he grows to be the giant red dog. The original series later takes off from there.
