Great Stocking Stuffers for the Girl on Your Christmas List

The first thing most children go for on Christmas morning is that fuzzy red stocking hanging by the fireplace. Many kids may already realize that Santa Claus will get them whatever they put on their list, but the stocking will always be a surprise. What can you surprise your girl with on Christmas morning?

Parents intent on stuffing their daughter's stocking with wonderful Christmas gifts will have to find small items only. A Christmas stocking does not have much room in it! For girls, however, the possibilities are vast and varied.

Ages One to Three

1. Plush Animals

Small, soft animals are great things to put in a Christmas stocking for the baby and toddler crowd. They are safe, fun and easily squishable for the small stocking size.

2. Small Dolls

Soft dolls will also make great stocking stuffers. Any preschool characters of small size would be great as well.

3. Board books

Small board books about colors, shapes, ABCs, and 123s can be tucked inside a Christmas stocking easily. It is a great way to encourage a girl's love of reading!

Ages Four to Seven

1. Dolls or Doll Clothing

Barbie dolls are the perfect size and shape to slide into a Christmas stocking. If your girl does not like Barbie, there are other fashion dolls out there. If she prefers larger baby dolls or dressing up teddy bears, you can fit a lot of doll clothing into a Christmas stocking.

2. Arts and Crafts Sets

Young girls in this age range will love to make some arts and crafts. There are a lot of small sets that allow a girl to make jewelry, treasure boxes, window clings and more.

3. Dress Up Jewelry and Accessories

Dress up and make believe jewelry and make up make great stocking stuffers if your girl likes to pretend she is a lovely princess.

Ages Eight to Twelve

1. Paperback Books

Paperback books of all sizes can be easily bent or rolled to fit into a Christmas stocking.

2. Costume or Fashion Jewelry

These older girls will probably have a particular fashion sense already. Stuffing her Christmas stocking with costume jewelry, hair accessories, and other trendy items is a great idea.
