Soaps to Stardom
Stunning beauties bring in the glamour quotient to the daily soaps we watch. We think of daytime soap operas, and what come to mind are the glitz, scandals and the gorgeous women. When cinema hasn't worked for a lot of starlets, they've turned to television as their savior; and it hasn't
disappointed most. Many top-notch actresses are a contribution of daytime television. Most of them have gone on to win a handful of awards in the small screen category.
The most popular soap artist for the last couple of decades has been Katherine Kelly Lang. She shot to fame as Brooke Logan on the immensely popular and long running 'The Bold and The Beautiful'. She along with Hunter Tylo and Susan Flannery are the longest serving mainstays of the series. Susan Flannery is in fact a Golden Globe and a 4-time Emmy award-winning actress. She's eternally going to be reminisced for her powerful portrayal as Stephanie Forrester in the B&B series.
When the B&B series commenced, it was given a stiff competition by another soap called 'Santa Barbara'. Julia Wainwritght Capwell played by Nancy Lee Grahn was widely accepted as a love interest of the main protagonist Cruz. The program brought her more projects like 'General Hospital'. GH is a currently running successful daytime soap that saw more stars like Kelly Marie Monaco, who's associated with her character called Sam McCall. The latest rage to hit the small screen though is 'The Young and the Restless' star Emily O'Brien, playing Jana Hawkes, the disturbed British girl. She's been a part of other projects before, but she tasted stardom with this series.
Television is obviously manna from heaven for a lot of wannabe talents. These actresses have got more coverage through these soaps than they could ever have hoped for from big screen cinema.
