Food Product Review: 8th Continent Light Chocolate Soymilk - A Delicious Alternative to Chocolate Milk

Food Product Review

I realize that soymilk does not sound appetizing to many people, but honestly, some soymilk really does taste wonderful, and this soymilk is no exception.

This soymilk by 8th Continent doesn't have that strong weird soymilk taste (and aftertaste) that so many brands do. The chocolate version tastes a lot like skim chocolate milk. The beverage is light, delicious, and refreshing. I do not
get that 'clogged up' feeling from drinking it as I do from drinking milk. Plus, I get to have 'guilt-free' chocolate! (Ok, I don't ever feel guilty about consuming chocolate).

I paid $2.78 for a half gallon.

The label advertises the claim that the product "contains ingredients that can help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke." More details about that claim are located on the rear label.

An interesting thing on the label compared this brand with a leading brand of chocolate soymilk. Across the board, 8th Continent has approximately ½ the calories, fat grams, and carbs of the leading brand. One 8 ounce glass has 30% of the recommended amount of Calcium, and 25% of the recommended amount of Vitamin D. Other nutrients include 7g protein, 10% Vitamin A, 8% Iron, 15% Vitamin B12, and 25% Riboflavin.

Currently, a promotion allows consumers to use a code located on the container to earn money for charity.

The only down sides are I wish it came in larger containers, and I wish the price were slightly lower. Other than that, this is a perfect product as far as I am concerned.

I give 8th Continent Light Chocolate Soymilk a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.
