Holiday Gift Ideas for Picky People
Buying Gifts for the Difficult People in Your Life
We all know them. We all have them in our lives. They are the picky people.
I could call them the icky picky people, but hey it's the Holiday Season and I'm trying to be nice. Tis the season to be jolly, good will and all that worthy sorta stuff.
But you know how frustrating it is, when those picky people get their gifts.
They open it and instead of a sincere, "Wow Thanks!" followed by a leap into your arms or a big hug or kiss, they grunt. "Thanks... thanks... thanks." They say thanks as many times as possible as if that word of polite humanity can cover up their lack of enthusiasm for the gift you've cursed them into receiving.
Ok, picky people complicate our lives. Maybe even more than one per family or circle of friends. How do you deal with them come the holidays?
Let's try out some classic ideas.
1. Gift Certificates
Yes, the classic way to handle the picky ones. Simply, pick up a gift certificate from a favorite retailer and it's no sweat right? Well yeah, it's good, but what if they don't like that particular store? They are picky right?
2. Gift Cards
We're getting better here. Gift cards are either Visa or MasterCard debit swipe cards that are accepted everywhere. They're just as good as cash, but more secure and allow the picky people to shop anywhere they please.
3. Food
But they're picky you say! Yes, true, but can ANYONE truly refuse say Godiva Chocolates? Mrs. Fields Cookies? Gourmet popcorn? Not really. Go with the gooey, sweet treats and you can't really ever go wrong. Well except if they're diabetic or watching their weight, which just means getting the low calorie equivalent.
4. Movie Tickets
Nearly all-major movie chains now offer Movie Tickets online or at the box office which are good for years for any money. Movie tickets or even all season passes are available, and then the picky ones will be responsible for their choice of movies - good or bad.
Picky people can be satisfied.
