It was a cold wintry day in the Midwest. A strong snowstorm had passed through during the evening hours. Snowplows had been working all night, but the streets were still nasty since it was currently a blizzard. Streets were covered with both snow and ice. Even the freeways were nasty. Off and on-ramps were impassable. Rush hour traffic was backed up for miles. Cars were crawling along at a snail's pace. People were changing lanes, thinking that the one next door would get them to their destination quicker. You get the picture, hopefully. In other words, it was a typically brutal Midwest winter storm.

Side note: I must point out that normally I am an even-tempered, mild mannered person. When someone else is in a bad mood, they tell me about it, and I cheer them up. Remember that, it will come in handy with this story.

Back to the traffic and road rage story: There was nothing on the radio other than weather and traffic updates. I know the traffic is bad, I am in it. I know the roads are in poor condition, I am stuck on them. Then, my radio quit. Maybe it froze. I do not know why that happened to this day.

All I could see was traffic for miles and snow flying everywhere. Then, the traffic would scoot along for a bit. My hopes would improve. Maybe we can finally move, I would think. No. I would move maybe two feet, then stop. This went on for hours.

Suddenly, there was a break in traffic. Cars started to move, except for the one directly in front of me. I could not move due to this car just creeping unnecessarily. It was slowing the traffic lane done. If they only knew how to drive! They obviously were not used to driving in this weather. So, I missed several opportunities to advance myself due to this car in front of me.

Finally, there was a large break between cars in the next lane. There was time to put ample, needed space between me and the car in front of me. I made a nice safety zone. It was my chance to make a break for it. I needed to get over due to my exit coming up.
So,

Takeaways
  • winter driving can be harsh
  • a funny story
  • watch out for the bird
Did You Know?
This is a funny road rage story, most are not.

This is just too good, one of the funniest stories I've read here. The page break for the surprise ending was perfect. I gave you 5 stars.
