Product Reviews: Plantronics Audio 310 PC Headset for Windows

The Plantronics Audio 310 headset for Windows is a single-eared headphone with an adjustable microphone that can be worn on either side. It is optimized for use with three of the major internet calling services, Skype,
Windows Live, and Yahoo, as well as for online gaming. It advertises a background noise-canceling microphone that eliminates any ambient noise from your conversation.

Compatibility: 5 out of 5

The Plantronics Audio 310 headset advertises itself as being designed for Skype, Windows Live Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger. It followed up on its promise as it works perfectly in each program. Internet calls are always a breeze with the Audio 310. Additionally, I have been able to use it for online gaming without losing a step in terms of functionality. It appears to be fully compatible with all Windows XP and Vista programs.

Sound Quality: 4 out of 5

The headset's sound is good and it can provide a high volume. The single-earphone seems to be a strength and a weakness in that you can stay apprised of the world around you, but the one speaker limit's the scope of the sound. Listening to another user of the same headset, you can hear them clearly without virtually any noise outside of the user's voice.

Microphone Quality: 5 out of 5

The Audio 310 claims to have a background-noise canceling microphone. Listening to it is a pleasure. The sound of the Plantronics microphone is far superior to landlines and cell phones. It could even be described as high definition audio. This puts my old microphone to shame and beats the microphone-only models easily. Physically, the microphone itself is adjustable on the headset and it can be worn off both the left and right ears.
