(Cage Birds - from the beautiful chorus and the rainbow colors of tiny finches, goldfinches tothe acrobatsof a parakeet that can provide delightful companionship and a bit of fun for many bird-lovers.)

As a wee lad the only contact I had with birds was through the cartoon shenanigans of Tweety the lisping canary in his escapades with Sylvester the deranged cat, "I thought I saw a 'puddy' cat!". Still wondering till this very day if Sylvester hadever caught that yellow rascal.

Today our two budgerigars singing in their cage delight both my wife with their sweet sounding notes. These birds are ourcompanions and our friends. We wake to their songs and their chattering each morning; our feathered friends havetaught us more about love and bonding with their song.

If you want a colorful caged bird or two it would be advisable to log on 'birds.about.com' or 'www.avianweb.com' and learnthe rules of having a caged bird in your home. A free newsletter will detail different type of cage birds, their different behavior and temperament, nutrition and maintenance, and the financing in keeping a feathered friend. Also they will inform you ofthe right type of cage suitable for the bird of your choice; one that is large enough for your bird to spread its wings - thelarger, the better is the word.(1)

Asyou are aware, parakeets, canaries, and other cage birds make delightful pets if they receive proper care. They brightenany home with their jaunty whistles, trilling songs, or perky talk. They can be trained to come out of their cages and flitaround the room, and many can learn to do tricks.

A pair of lovebirds would makeinteresting feathered companions andso would the following species:.

1) The canary is one of most popular cage birds as their cheery songs made them much in demand. The canary's
personality and song have won the hearts of many Americans and is taking hold of hearts all over the world.
