The Sad Departure of Yellow Wiggle Greg Page Due to Orthostatic Intolerance

The Wiggles have sadly announced the departure of the yellow wiggle Greg Page. Greg is one of the founding members ofThe Wiggles which has existed over the last fifteen years. The Wiggles are one of the biggest bands in kids music. They can be compared to the Ninja Turtles,Power Rangers,
 or Barney the Purple Dinosaur.

Greg's replacement is his understudy Sam Moran to ensure the future of this successful entertainment group catered tofive year olds and under. Like the Olsen twins The Wiggles conglomerate includes clothing, DVDs, party items, dolls, toys etc.

Greg has been ill for months and it has affected his performance. He is suffering from a condition related to blood pressure and it is not life threatening. The illness is genetic, Greg has decided to leaveThe Wiggles to concentrate more on his condition.

"This emotional decision which was very difficult, as I have dedicated almost half my life to The Wiggles, and with a question mark over my health, I feel this is the right decision. I will miss The Wiggles and the other guys very much, as well as seeing all the children in the audience that we perform in front of. I wish the guys continued success, and welcome Sam Moran with open arms to the Yellow Skivvy - I know he is a great performer, and is well equipped to be the Yellow Wiggle," Page said in a prepared statement.

Greg is suffering from a illness called Orthostatic Intolerance. The illness involves a sudden fall in blood pressure that occurs when a person assumes a standing position. It is caused by Hypoglycemia (a decreased amount of blood in the body), resulting from the excessive use ofdiuretics, vacillators, or other types of drugs, dehydration, or prolonged bed rest. The disorder may be associated with Addison's Disease, atherosclerosis (build up of fatty deposits in the arteries) diabetes, and certain neurological disorders including ShyDrager Syndrome and other autonomies.

I just got back from our first and last Wiggles concert without Greg. There is no replacing Greg. The guys seem to be carrying on as best they can, but the sound is different. They act differently on stage and the comfort level, joy, and unscripted banter between the guys isn't there anymore. It seemed like they followed the script and just weren't having as much fun. My son, niece, and nephew (5 and 6 years old), myself and my sister gave gifts to Anthony to give Greg. Our hearts are broken. I wish Greg the best and hope he can manage this disease and find happiness in his life. I feel bad for Anthony, Murray, and Jeff who have to carry on without him. It wasn't the same without him.

When my grandson was barely a year old, he'd watch the Wiggles on television and laugh and dance with them. Of course, I never watched with him. . . well more than a few dozen times. Greg was my favorite. It is so sad to see him go.

This was sad news for my family when I first heard it. My kids LOVE the Wiggles, and we own several of their DVD's. No matter what they say, kids will notice when Greg is replaced. Poor Wiggles....
