How to Make a Top Quality Gazebo Roof Using Outdoor Material
If your gazebo is the type that is portable or can be taken down easily for maintenance you may want to consider the option of using outdoor special canvas material for a roof top type covering. Some gazebo structures have a wood, open lattice domed top. These also lend themselves to
either temporary or permanent use of canvas enclosure or roofing material.
The easiest way to install this material is to have it cut to shape for each panel. Along the edges aluminum reinforced eye holes (the receptive part of a pair) should be placed about every eight inches and at each corner.. The gazebo should have the insert and twisting lock portion installed in the correct location. This can be done by laying a template over the gazebo panel to be covered and marking the spots for the fastening points. This same template can be used for the canvas manufacture as well. The canvas can be made in one piece if desired and if the gazebo has a dome top. The company supplying the canvas can cut and sew the top piece or roof sections to your specifications and matching the template you supply.
When installing the canvas top or canvas sections you should put every other section on first and then put the other sections on, overlapping the seam of the first installed sections. This provides the best waterproofing seal for the gazebo if the canvas was installed in sections. If your canvas roof top is made as a one piece dome style cover then all you need to do is drop the canvas top over the gazebo wood work and use the fasteners all the way around the bottom. No other fasteners are needed in this type top if you put the fasteners every eight inches around the complete circumference of the gazebo.
