Brooke Shields and Tom Cruise are in conflict over Brook Shields decision to seek medical help over postpartum depression after the birth of her baby. Tom Cruise and Brooke Shields word war started after Tom Cruise openly disapproved of Brooke Shields decision to take the medications her doctor prescribed to cure her postpartum depression on the Today Show.

Tom Cruise, a devoted follower of Scientology, felt that Brooke Shields should have tried to cure her postpartum depression through exercise and added that many people have been misinformed about depression and how to cure depression. Scientology is the belief that taking medications will do the body harm and we can be cured by natural means.

While postpartum depression is still misunderstood and what causes it, there are many ways that new mothers can receive treatment. The most common treatment for postpartum depression is through medications that can help alleviate the depression. A new mother can also join support groups in addition to the medications that are prescribed in order to have others to talk to about postpartum depression.

The course of a pregnant woman should be a joyous occasion there are some adjustments that need to be made in order for a safe and happy pregnancy. Such adjustments are stopping smoking, the use of alcohol, drugs, and trying to avoid stress to insure the optimal health of the mother and baby.

The stress of the actual childbirth can cause some health problems for the mother and baby in some cases. While not every woman and baby will have problems during childbirth, the natural act of childbirth is an experience in itself.

This in turn leads to what is called postpartum depression. Postpartum depression occurs after childbirth and is a quite common side effect of giving birth. Many women, such as Brooke Shields, have learned how to deal with postpartum depression and treat it. In cases of Tom Cruise not totally understanding the cause of postpartum depression, this type of depression only affects new mothers.

For me it was not so much that Cruise disagreed with her, it's how he used this woman's choice to promote scientology. He was also more than a little bit hateful in trying the meds to her acting jobs like one has to do with the other. It scared me when he told everyone he knows the truth about meds and last I checked he made it past high school but no farer.
