For quite some time now, the importance of global warming has been placed on the back burner, so to speak, in an effort to downplay its significant role in the well-being of our planet. The issue of global warming certainly is a global problem and it is resurfacing in the light of its importance upon planetary life. Although global warming is now admittedly a serious concern worthy of everyone’s attention there are still some aspects that remain uncertain or perhaps unspoken.

For example, the timeframe surrounding potential doomsday dates leave us to wonder whether the dire consequences of global warming lie far off in the future as some government officials and scientists would lead us to believe. Others predict that the doomsday scenario could be much closer that we know or imagine it to be. So, what do we know for certain?

We do know that sea levels will continue to rise and global warming will progress unless greenhouse-gas levels are not stabilized. But is it too late to slow or reverse the process? Most experts agree that it is not too late if planetary measures are taken now but the events have been set in motion and we are seeing the effects taking place in present day. Our world has seen its fair share of natural disasters recently and it stands to reason that they will still continue to plague our planet in coming years. Even if greenhouse-gas levels are stabilized and other measures are taken to prevent worsening effects our planet may still undergo major upheavals of natural disasters and changing weather patterns for quite some time. Global warming did not occur overnight; it has been a gradual and steady process. It is very unlikely that the process should be halted or reversed in a brief amount of time.

Takeaways
  • The issue of global warming certainly is a global problem and it is resurfacing in the light of its importance upon planetary life
  • Our world has seen its fair share of natural disasters recently and it stands to reason that they will still continue to plague our planet in coming years.
  • There are also threats of increased disease brought about by climatic changes and carried by insects that seem to be more resistant to insecticides now than they were in the past.
Did You Know?
Even if greenhouse-gas levels are stabilized and other measures are taken to prevent worsening effects our planet may still undergo major upheavals of natural disasters and changing weather patterns for quite some time.

Sea levels are rising, partly due to the warming of the oceans (water expands when it gets warm) and partly due to fresh water from melting glaciers. This is not based on BELIEFs, or based on a "theoretical model, using theoretical assumptions". This is happening, now, and will continue to get increasingly worse, until greenhouse gasses are stabilized, and sea levels return to normal, a process that may take hundreds of years.

Actually, it is known. Role-playing an ostrich will not "magically" reverse the ever-increasing melt-down of Greenland's glaciers, the breakup of the Arctic sea ice, the release of Antarctica's ice packs, the documented rise in global temperatures and the tragedy of shifting weather patterns that leave formerly productive agricultural areas across the world drought-stricken. All of these things are accelerating at an unprecedented rate, even looking back through the geological record. The only thing that is different now from other cycles of climate? Humanity. Get a clue.

"We do know that sea levels will continue to rise and global warming will progress unless greenhouse-gas levels are not stabilized." - Actually, no, we don't know that. Certain people BELIEVE that based on a theoretical model using theoretical assumptions and applying theoretical principles, but it certainly could not even remotely be classified "known."

everyone on this earth should be conscious about this global warming! :-)
