If you haven't watched the Sci-Fi channels "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" yet, you don't know what you are missing. When Time magazine called it the best show on television in 2005, they may have been right. And in 2006, it just keeps getting better.

The TIME article states "Most of you probably think this entry has got to be a joke. The rest of you have actually watched the show." That says it all. If you are in to it, you already know. If you're not, get onboard the Battlestar! Time goes on to talk about some of the themes of the show, which have been further explored in the 2006 season so far. Time calls it "a ripping sci-fi allegory of the war on terror, complete with religious fundamentalists, sleeper cells, civil liberties crackdowns, and even a prisoner torture scandal." This year, add a prolonged occupation with disastrous results for the occupation forces and suicide bombers that are part of the "good side." It is never just black and white, good versus evil. When the humans are given the opportunity to wipe out the Cylons, a debate rages over the ethics of it all.

There is something for everyone on the show. Human drama, sexual tension, the desire for a home. True heroes and true villains-on both sides. You can't watch the show and not be required to think, at least a little bit. And don't worry, you will also be very entertained. The Sci-Fi Channel is getting better and better at making quality television. They have presented some very good miniseries, including an epically good remake of "DUNE." Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, Dr. Who, and the new hit Eureka are all very good series television shows. If you find yourself tiring of "CSI" shows or reality series, flip that channel on over to Sci-Fi. You just might be pleasantly surprised!

It won me over from the start. I'm definitely a fan.

I watched the first season, but was confused with some of the apparent flashbacks and weird scenes with Baltar's Cylon seducer - forgot her name. It's like she interacted w/ him in another dimension. It was strange - a little too much for me. Also...I was bothered that they so radically changed the characters - why make Starbuck a woman, for example? But, overall, I will admit that the show is much more in-depth and thought-provoking than the original.
