Romantic Dinner for Two in Athens, Ohio? Try Lui Lui's!
Athens, Ohio is known for a lot of things: Ohio University, the annual Halloween party, its quaint brick roads. One thing that Athens is not known for is its fine dining. Being mainly a college town means that there are mainly

United States of America college-y things to eat, like pizza. Mostly pizza. And Mexican food, and Chinese food, and Subs. But mostly pizza. This makes going on a fancy dinner date...challenging. However, there is a solution that will take you outside of the University Student Center (where there is a reportedly fancy, and very expensive restaurant), and into the intimate, delicious setting that you're looking for. Lui Lui's is located at 8 Station Street.
The restaurant has a variety of both Asian and American cuisine. I am not personally a fan of most Asian food, and so I chose a chicken dish with a garlic sauce that was pretty good. The portions were large, which was great because that meant more Lui Lui's for breakfast! To be honest, I've had better food at fancy restaurants. That's not to say that the food wasn't very good, but for what you pay, I would expect just a little better.
The prices were a little steep, but nothing severely out of control--each dish was roughly 11 dollars. The food was plated very attractively, and the service was good. It's such a treat to find somewhere to eat that isn't situated directly on the Ohio University campus. The distance from the school and the price range makes Lui Lui's less of a college kid attraction, and more like a restaurant in a non-college town. At least in Lui Lui's, you don't have to worry about any drunk kids straggling in late at night.
