Of course the very privileged teenagers portrayed on the popular MTV show personify very real people. To live in Laguna Beach is not cheap, and it seems only the very rich are able to live there. To prove this fact, it seems that every other car on the road in this town is a Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and I even spotted a Rolls Royce, actually driven by a younger man, most likely in his 20s. It proved to me that the truly privileged reside in this affluent town.
In addition to the prestige this town seems to hold, it has a great deal to offer to the vacationer. The town is situated along a rocky coastline with plenty of beach area to offer, and it is chock full of art galleries and upscale boutiques appealing to just about everyone. I passed by a doggie boutique that had baked goods and luxury items for dogs which seems to show that even the pets there are pampered. There are also countless boutiques that carry designer clothes and souvenirs for the true tourist, as well as antique shops and many home furnishing shops. The town also holds art festivals throughout the year, and has its own art museum that has many exhibitions and guest speakers.
