Warning: Genesis Elijah is one MC with versatile flow, and the structure of this disc (he stressed in the linear notes, this is NOTE an album, but a collection of tracks he had worked on from 2001-2005) showcases this. He also makes a comment about some of the tunes not being properly mixed down, but with Hip-Hop, it’s all about the rawness of the spit, the heart of the spit, and GE spits with both raw heat and loads of heart.

The first section of the CD is “The Road”, which kind of introduces you to GE, in terms of his struggle, his upbringing, and a taste of his spiritual ideals. “Jah Bless”, which is the lead single, has GE and Klashnekoff asking Jah for his blessings while trying to deal with life on this crazy planet. The pursuit of happiness for self and loved ones, and the continued determination along the paths we are rocking on. Oh yeah, the beat is fucking BIG and is guaranteed to get any fan of Hip-Hop on the floor, two-stepping and shaking their ass. “Road Rage” is GE painting a picture of the ghetto life in the UK, with lines like “these streets come like Gotham, but ain’t no Batman and Robin/it’s more like ‘hey, he’s a batty-man, let’s rob him!’” Genesis lets us delve into the life of a Black person over the sea. It’s not all tea and crumpets, or whatever other pre-conceived notions you have about the UK and their attitudes: those niggas live it like we live it.
