Photoshop Icons - Pink Square Glass Arrow Icon

In this Photoshop tutorial I am going to show you how to create a Pink Square Glass Arrow Icon. This is a pink glass square with an arrow on it. These icons are used a lot on the web. You can create this icon whatever size you want. It’s best to start out with a bigger icon and then size it down. The bigger square in my image is the original size that I created this icon. Then I sized it down to the smaller size when I was done. There are two parts to this Photoshop tutorial. The first part is creating the Glass Square. The second part is creating the arrow.

I will write the first part of this Photoshop tutorial for beginners and then I’ll write the second part for the advance users.

How to Create a Pink Square Glass Arrow Icon in Photoshop for Beginners

Glass Square

Open Photoshop and let it load. Click File > New to create a new canvas. Create it about 300 pixels by 300 pixels. Set the background to white and click OK.

Create a New Layer. Click on the icon in the bottom of the Layers Panel that looks like a sheet of paper with the corner curled up to create a new layer. If you do not see your Layers Panel then press F7 on your keyboard. F7 will bring your Layers Panel up. Name the Layer Square by double clicking layer.

Select your Rounded Rectangle Tool from your toolbar and set the Radius at the top to 10px. Draw your Square on the canvas. Make it about the size of the one in my image.

Right click on your Shape Layer and select Rasterize Layer from the pop up menu.

Right click again on your Shape Layer and select Blending Options from the pop up menu. This is where you will apply all your effects for your glass square. Apply the following effects below.
