Edy's No-Sugar-Added Fudge Tracks Ice Cream: Product Review
Great Choice for Diabetics
If you have ever had Moose Tracks Ice Cream, then you already know that vanilla ice cream filled with chocolate swirls and miniature peanut butter cups is to die for. Up until recently, no similar flavor was available in a reduced sugar version. Well, it is now. When I was diagnosed with Diabetes I thought that I wouldn't really miss sugar that much. I'm not a big sweet eater and Splenda suits me just fine. I wasn't worried about limiting sugar intake, until summer rolled around and friends and family were gobbling down big delicious bowls of ice cream while I nibbled on some fresh fruit. Don't get me wrong; fresh fruit is wonderful. It's filled with vitamins and nutrients to fuel the body, but it's not ice cream. I love ice cream.
I began my search for a sugar free or reduced sugar alternative and was sorely disappointed. The choices available ranged from vanilla to more vanilla with an occasional chocolate swirl that left me wanting something a little tastier. Edy's has provided just that.
Edy's No Sugar Added Fudge Tracks is so smooth and creamy that I would never know it wasn't regular ice cream. Not only is there no added sugar, it is low in fat too. Edy's is sweetened with Splenda, but you would never know it wasn't real sugar. It is quite simply a diabetic's dream come true when it comes to ice cream. It contains a mere 3 grams of natural sugar per serving compared to the 13 grams of sugar in their regular ice cream. Best of all it tastes like the real thing.
If you are a diabetic, or are on a sugar limiting diet, I urge you to give Edy's Fudge Tracks a try. The next time your friends or family are sitting down to heaping bowls of delicious ice cream don't slink off into a corner and nibble on grapes. Pull out Edy's Fudge Tracks and join the party.
As always monitor your blood glucose levels regularly and consult your physician if you have questions about how many grams of sugar are safe for you.
