The consequences for pregnant women with STD, could lead to early labor (cause the water to break early) and cause infection in the uterus after birth. In some cases, STD can be passed from a pregnant woman to the baby before and during the baby's birth. Harmful effects to babies include low birth weight, pneumonia, infection (babys blood), brain damage, eye infection, blindness, chronic liver disease, stillbirth and other medical problems. Many methods can be taken to avoid getting STD, including the use of condoms. Unfortunately, in the real world protection is not used or considered, most of the time.
