It is apparent that the public is amazed that such a simple thing can turn into a big lawsuit. However, it is not only the public that believes this story has been blown out of proportion.

TakePart Blog calls the lawsuit a "Sugary Story of Ridiculousness". Yahoo News says the creator of Famous Cupcakes was contacted repeatedly to remove the trademark symbol before Sprinkles Cupcakes initiated a lawsuit.

Have lawsuits gone overboard over trademark issues or is this a publicity stunt in attempt for some cupcake companies to get noticed by the major media outlets? Is this an attempt to protect a trademark or receive free press?

My Computer Downloaded a Virus from Famous Cupcakes Video

Curious, I did a web search for "Famous Cupcakes". After clicking onto one of the websites, I clicked continue when the website wanted to download software to "get the video to work" and "install components Windows needed to view the video". After I clicked continue, I realized one second too late that this was a bad idea. The website I visited had already begun installing a virus and Spyware onto my computer.
