CRASS AND CRUDEWelcome to the Beijing's 2008 Olympics, hosted by our epicanthically challenged friends.
Or so would the football (soccer) players from Spain and Argentina have you think.

Aren't we finished in seeing China as a mostly dangerous and foreboding land filled with fiendish slanty-eyed characters like Rohmer's Fu Manchu and Harte's "Heathen Chinee"?
Let's write this off as youthful shenanigans and call it a day.
Being a spectator at the Olympics is a unique experience because the emotional connections to the history of the Games, the events themselves and the individual athletes is more intense and bigger and better than at any other contest.
