Why I Homeschool
Homeschool. Hmm, what does that mean? It means we stay home all day secluded from the rest of the world. My kids never interact with other children or other adults. We are full fledge hermits. NOT! No, actually that is the furthest from the truth, but a lot of people view homeschooling
just that way. There are so many reasons I chose to homeschool and I would like to share them here. Maybe your kids are out of school or maybe you have school aged children and you tell yourself you don't have the patience and you could never do it. I am here to tell you that you can! If it is something you feel strongly about and really want to do, you can do it.
I suppose one of the main reasons my husband and I chose to homeschool is to give our children a Christian education. They are taught biblical principles, memorize scriptures and read about creation. That is probably the foremost reason. We wanted them to be able to pray and read their bibles. Another reason we chose homeschooling is the flexibility it provides your family. Most days, when started on time, we can finish by lunch. That leaves pretty much the rest of the day for other activities. We are part of a homeschooling co-op and during the school year we take field trips and have field days. The kids really enjoy it. It gives them the opportunity to interact with other children their age and those who are not. They can interact with the young and old alike. I laugh when I hear people bring up "socialization". To me homeschooling has more socialization than public school. We are constantly doing things with other families with kids that are not all the same age.
