Review: Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Black Amethyst Body Lotion
I have been trying to avoid Bath & Body Works stores and the website. It's like an addicting poison for me, and I cannot view the site or walk into the store without buying something.
I realized my addiction was becoming obsessive after I took a look into my dresser drawers where I keep all of my lotions and body products. Inside there were over 40 or 50 different products from Bath and Body Works, and some of them were barely even used.
Yet here I was again prowling their website looking to see if anything new for the fall collection would be hitting shelves soon. Well it is safe to report that there is nothing new when it comes to fall scents. There was however one new fragrance from the Signature Collection that I had yet to try. The new fragrance is called Black Amethyst.
Without even trying it I had a small hunch that this scent would be similar to their Signature Collections Amber scents. Dark, sultry, musky, and dreamy. A scent that reminds me of a subtle touch of summer, yet a sweet beginning to fall months.
I was right. Black Amethyst smells just like that. It is indeed a dark summers night dream, with that cooling touch of fall that I simply adore.
The scent is floral, musky, and at the same time it posses something warm and magical within it that will simply make you feel gorgeous. A form of aromatherapy if you will.
The Lotion:
Black Amethyst comes in your normal standard Signature Collection bottle. The bottle has a pretty sticker slapped on to it, making Black Amethyst easy to find. The lotion has a runny texture to it like most Signature Collection lotions do. The plus side though is that it will not run too messy and make a mess. In my opinion it is the perfect texture for lotion because it is easy to spread and absorbs into the skin quickly.
Last:
When something smells this magical you would hope it would stick around for you to be able to enjoy throughout the day... or night.
Black Amethyst does not have too much of staying power though. The scent will stick around for about a half hour to an hour and then it simply vanishes. This is one of the major downfalls of the lotion.
