Affiliate programs are a way for webmasters and home based business owners to make additional revenue from their website. Affiliate programs often pay a percentage of the sales revenue generated by the affiliate. So if you were an affiliate for XYZ company and you refer a person to their website from your website, and they make a $100 sale. If your commission rate was 10%, you would make $10 just by referring people to their website. You can see how this can generate money from just having a website.�
