I was given the opportunity to interview this extremely talented man via phone. I hope you enjoy reading the interview as much as I enjoyed talking with Taylor Hicks.

First J Records called and connected me to Taylor on speaker phone. Taylor and I greeted each other.

How is the promotional tour for you album going?

Taylor - It's going great, I'm having a ball, I'm loving my job, I love my job!!

I told Taylor I really enjoy his music and just that day, Dec 5th had heard the whole album at VH1 and I thought he defiantly had a winner album.

I didnt realize that AC's changes included more space to comment with, or else I would have been more clear in my critique. For Cindy, yes, I was trying to be helpful, but you probably know that AC did not allow much space for commenting before, so, I could not go into detail. For Kristina, take a breath. I liked the article/interview.... I was not saying she needed to run out and get dirt on Taylor......IF that could even be done. I was merely looking at the article in a journalistic point of view.

Thanks for the wonderful piece. You have given me inspiration to interview again, as it is worth the gitters if you can give something informative to readers. AC does have its perks to be sure!

Sigh....wish I could interview Taylor. You asked a lot of questions I think that I haven't seen or heard asked before. Hope this CD goes to No 1 real quick....it won't be for my lack of buying them as Christmas gifts...Bought two for myself...because I am sure I am going to wear one out.

Having talked to you just before the interview...I know you were nervous, but it didn't come across that way! You were very professional, and so was your writing. The typo's weren't your fault! You did very well, and took into account what had already been asked, and what hadn't. Actually, keeping it very simple, and not down and dirty, will keep you on their radar, and I expect this won't be your last interview with him!

Cindy, I learned somethings from your questions. For a short interview, you did well to elicit these tidbits. IYT was his first song to write at age 18 no less and a duo, acting... Good job.

I was extremely nervous. I was shaking like a leaf :) And yes your right Gregs critique was to be helpful.

Posted on 12/08/2006 at 10:12:00 PM

Nice article. I was a Taylor Hicks fan from the start and I'm glad that he won. The article was nicely written though don't discount Greg's critique, especially because he's being helpful and not mean like some people on this site. The questions were good and they were what people wanted to know. Keep doing interviews and up your grit level with each one. I do have one question though....were you nervous? You came off as very confident, and I know I would have been too nervous to go beyond "Uh..well...uh...so you like to sing, huh?"
