The short movie premiered that this years Bare Bones Script 2 Screen Film Festival. I had a chance to see the movie while attending the film festival. To my surprise, it was more than I expected. The Timmy movie was shocking, bloody and filled with unimaginable horror. While I am not a horror fan, I wanted to support a fellow filmmaker, whom I met while attending last years Bare Bones Film Festival. Timmy is a great movie. In its short form, I am not surprised that it has begun to have success on the film festival circuit. There are thousands of shorts out there, but Timmy is a must-see.
Leading up to its premiere screening in Tulsa, production stills from the movie were placed on the Official Timmy Myspace page. They were removed my Myspace administrators in the days following the posting. Myspace deemed the Timmy pictures as too violent and offensive. After looking at many of the pictures and videos that are on Myspace, it is hard to believe that they removed the Timmy pictures. I saw the pictures after they were posted on the movies website recently. They are bloody, but not to the extent that it is a cause for removal off of Myspace. There was a story on NBC-10 news regarding a Myspace video that depicted someone abusing a cat. There are also reports of gang photos on Myspace. I find it interesting that they allow the postings of real-life criminal acts, but remove photos from a movie.
