I started mystery shopping because a woman I use to work for mention she use to be a scheduler for a company long time ago and paid her very well. The women I use to work for mention to me that mystery shopping was true. You do get paid to shop. This woman made me feel so excited that I gave it a try. Being a single mother and working two jobs was not enough to pay my bills. I work 12 hours each day.So one day I did research on my computer and type mystery shop, and a whole list appear. I never paid for a list of mystery shopping. I did my research and found a website name Volition.com, and mystery shopping association. This both sites would help you.

I started applying to the jobs, because I was just tired of working so many hours minimum wage. I wanted spend more time at home with my daughter. I couldn’t’ believe my eyes, there was a lot of company out there that needed mystery shoppers. So I applied to 50 of the mysteries shopping company. When I receive my first shops, I decide to quit my second job, and replace it with mystery shopping. In my head I thought well this is going to pay a little more that my second minimum job. I said to myself, I am not going to be all day at work. Couple of hours going to the stores and evaluating shoppers should be easy. Then going home and simply filling out services. Yeah right! Well my first job was a cell phone store it was pretty easy, for ten dollars. My second job was stores were I had to ask specific questions about a product and evaluate 5 people including cashier. This shop paid 8 dollars. I didn’t want to do it for 8 dollars, because it was too much work for me, but I did the assignments. I did the assignment because wanted to get my feet wet, and discover the real life of mystery shopping. There are companies out there that they really paid well for assignments. The only thing is you need to do your homework. As for me now mystery shopping for a year, is fun, but could be a burn out. If you would like to know the pros, and cons of mystery shopping here they are.
