It happened that after some calm of the past years when computer platforms have been progressing evolutionarily this summer and then the autumn have brought several revolutionary upheavals with them. For the past few months, the DDR2 memory has finally come into its own, mass platforms for desktop and mobiles PC have acquired support for formerly inaccessible features (RAID, SATA-II, Gigabit Ethernet, etc.), and processors have entered the era of multi-core architectures first last and all the time. That is why I recommend all our readers to not only browse through the test results but take a closer look at the description of the architecture of the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 family. Such epochal phenomenon doesn't happen every year, and by its significance it is in line with the new Intel Core architecture and the forthcoming release of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.

In many games, the new 16x mode will provide a frame refresh rate comparable to the standard 4x multisampling mode and with a much higher image quality.Anisotropic Filtering which provides a greater sharpness and clarity of various objects positioned at a sharp angle and/or going into the perspective. Combined with the technology of multiple trilinear mipmapping, the anisotropic filtering allows reducing the rate of distortions and make the image more clear. On the below illustration: to the left is the isotropic trilinear mipmapping, to the right is the anisotropic trilinear mipmapping.

Ok, ok enough with all the technical chat. Basically what all the above means is that this video card rocks. If you are looking for the next big thing in computer gaming, it is time to head out and purchase this card. You will be able to experience next generation games with ease. No more lagging graphics and blurry video, this graphics card is excellent. Your games will run and flow smoothly and will make your gaming experience that much better.
