I thought that hooking my computer up to my Samsung HDTV would be cool. However browsing the net and working on a computer using a 42 inch screen is not as wondrous as I first imagined. For one it's far too large, and not as easy on the eyes as Id liked. Me being the dope I am, I threw out my old clunker of a monitor, and now I was out a monitor. My fix was purchasing the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW.
I love Samsung and have been a loyal customer since buying my HDTV, so I knew immediately I'd be picking up a Samsung monitor, and when I came across the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW for $269.99 it was love at first sight.
The monitor was adorable first and foremost, and matched my big screen nearly to the tee. The same slick shiny black frame surrounding a gorgeous matte finished 22 inch screen. The adorable Samsung logo at the bottom, and a sexy round 'power' button to the far right that glows a bright blue ring when its on.
Out of the box, the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW came with 2 available plugs to attach to my PC. A DVI plug, and a standard VGA cable. It also came packed with a driver installation CD, and of course your power chord.
The base of the monitor swivels back from 0 degrees to 18 degrees. The base is a slick shiny black plastic, which looks exactly like a miniaturized version of an HDTV's base. The base has to be put together manually, but it is as simple as snap, click and lock. Not screws, nuts, bolts or screwdrivers needed.
Putting the base together made me a little wary, because I was not sure how well it would work when it came to holding up the monitor. Once together though, it worked like a charm with absolutely no issues.
At the bottom of the monitor you have your control buttons. There you can adjust your monitors settings. Brightness, contrast; the whole nine is located here, and you can adjust them according to your preferences.
What I love about the settings is that they are quick and easy to use, and you can adjust them with a few clicks. Gaming, document work, and web browsing. I usually prefer different settings for each.
