So you've decided to buy a big flat screen television set. Now the decisions begin as to what television set to buy. This might seem easy at first but the more you get into it, you will see that it is anything but an easy choice. There are so many sites on the internet to learn about buying a big flat screen television set that you will have no trouble learning about them. But it is still not easy to decide. My husband and I thought about buying a big flat screen television for months now, and still are undecided, but have learned some important things. Designer Marie Kinnaman has some interesting tips on buying a big flat screen television set. Be careful of whether you are viewing the television during the day because you might have to worry about light glare from the windows. If you do have glare you could cover the windows with curtains or shades. Also it is not wise to place a big screen television set near the entrance to the room especially with the back showing because the wires would show and it would look ugly. And make up your mind where to place it before the installers come-it will save you hours of time.
It seems, I've learned on the internet, that if you sit too close to the big flat screen television screen, the pixels will show and not give you a good picture and if you sit a distance from the screen- if you get the wrong size, you won't get the benefits of the screen size. Then there's ghosts and burns to worry about so you really have to make a study of it to select the right big flat screen television set.
Also the sets are calibrated to show well in the brightly lit stores so they will not look the same in your home just to confuse things. And everyone's eyes and tastes are different. If you go to a movie theatre you will see people sitting in the front, in the middle and in the back. These are personal tastes of each person and each person's eyes. And which brand to buy is confusing because so many different ones are recommended, although the Sony Bravia always seems to come out on top. It is usually the most expensive. It's important, too to have someone install it and calibrate it or the picture won't look good.
