I live in a small town in Ms. where there are many children who go with out for Christmas, I know there are toys for tots, and some other charity, but sometimes even they can not help, I have a friend who is a single mother and has two small daughters, she works hard every day to try and give her children all the things they need, but she still is unable to do that, she lives in a small trailer that is falling apart, and welfare is no good for her, because they say she makes to much, but unless you have no money and no job they won't help you, you would think they would help people who are trying to help there selves, but they only want to give food stamps to people who could be working, but don't. My friend is a wonderful mother and her children are wonderful as well, her oldest daughter is on the honor roll. They are in such need this year for Christmas, maybe writing this will help others to realize Christmas is not just about gifts, it is about helping others in need. This is the season for giving not receiving.

Your poor friend! I do agree that welfare is screwed up. I hope they have a great Christmas despite the lack of money.
