Gaming is all the rage among teens and adults alike. The desire for the best in gaming consoles and the top games to go with it are a passion for some. But with all of the new systems coming out which ones can be viewed as the best? In this review I will ask the professionals and gamers to determine the verdict.

Video Game Review: Newest and Best Consoles

If you are buying the game for the family that very well may be quite a different purchase all together. Below is by far the best of the family friendly game consoles.

  • Nintendo Wii- This is not for hard-core gamers but rather is specifically designed for family play. It is great for getting the players off their butts and really involved with the game that is being played. It is a 'different' kind of game that racks up great results.

If you want to buy a unit that goes above and beyond the norm for intense gaming purposes then below are the best rated in that area.

  • Microsoft Xbox 360- At around $400 you could own this piece of technology that still stands at the top of the list despite all the buzz over the PS3. The PS3 may look better on paper but that's not enough. It will take a long time before it can be played at its full potential. The graphics are realistically intense and gamers seem quite content with this game console.
  • Sony PlayStation 3- This is significantly more expensive than the XBOX unit and the games are not as abundant. This game console does have a Blu-ray DVD player in it as well, so the price is good for all the aspects involved.

For portability the following handheld games have been rated the best all year long on several reviewer lists.

· Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP)- This is the most expensive handheld device but it is well worth it to serious gamers on the go. Not only does it have a high resolution screen but it plays video and MP3's as well.

· Nintendo DS Lite- This is the cheapest in hand held games but is really a good deal for kids who love to play. It is durable and the games that come with it are very exciting for young gamers.
