2006 College Football Bowl Schedule

The Florida Gators barely inched out the Michigan Wolverines to get into the BCS National Championship game, but that doesn’t mean that Michigan or the rest of the country has nothing to play for. Pride will be on the line in a
 myriad of Bowl Games. Here is your complete Bowl Schedule with some notes.

Poinsettia Bowl

TCU Horned Frogs vs. NIU Huskies
Record against: First meeting between the TCU Horned Frogs and the NIU Huskies
TCU Horned Bowl Record: 9 - 13 (First appearance in Poinsettia Bowl)
NIU Huskies Bowl Record: 2 - 0 (First appearance in Poinsettia Bowl)
Reason to watch the Poinsettia Bowl: NIU Huskies running back Garrett Wolfe leads the nation in rushing yards and needs 100 yards to break 2,000.

Las Vegas Bowl
Dec. 21st (8 p.m.)
BYU Cougars vs. Oregon Ducks
Record against: The Oregon Ducks have a 3 - 2 record all-time against the BYU Cougars including their last meeting when the Oregon Ducks defeated the BYU Cougars 32 - 16.

Reason to watch the Las Vegas Bowl: If you like to see mid-major teams beating a team from a major conference the Las Vegas Bowl is your game. BYU Cougars Quarterback John Beck will take his second best passing efficiency in the nation up against a reeling Oregon Ducks team that has lost three in a row.

New Orleans Bowl

Reason to watch the New Orleans Bowl: It’s always special to see programs that aren’t very well known finally break through. The Troy Trojans are playing in just their second bowl game and looking for their first win. The Rice Owls haven’t won a bowl game since 1953. Chances are you’ve never seen either of these teams win a bowl game but one of them will this year.
