Martha's White Yellow Cornbread Mix Versus Jiffy's Cornbread Mix

The pre-packaged food industry is a billion, if not, trillion dollar business. “The easier the better” is most people’s motto when preparing a meal. Pre-packaged cornbread mix is a staple on the shelves of most grocery stores, and in most people’s homes. With the
holidays coming up-cornbread stuffing and all-it might be hard to decide, which brand is worth purchasing. Here are two product reviews for two well-known, prepackaged cornbread mixes.

Martha’s White Yellow Cornbread Mix, 7.5oz: Serving size ¼ cups. Servings per container 6. Price: 3 boxes, on sale, for $1.00. Additional ingredients:1/2 cup of milk or water. Baking Time: pour in a lightly oiled 8-inch square or muffin pan, bake for 15 to 20 minutes in a 400 degree oven. Preparation: Very easy, just add milk or water; stir and pour into a pan. Taste: It has less of a “corn” taste than the Jiffy’s Cornbread Mix. The cornbread becomes harder and less flavorful within days after making it, and reheating it in the oven or microwave does not help to make this less so; therefore, it is best eaten on the first day. Also, removing the cornbread from the pan can be a hassle, it falls apart easily. This happens even when more oil is added to the pan. Rating: Average.

Martha’s White Yellow Cornbread Mix will do in a pinch, needing only one additional ingredient makes this product easy to prepare. 1 box of Martha’s White Yellow Cornbread mix, even when it is not on sale, costs under $1.00. The product does not hold up well after the first day, but it gets the job done.

Jiffy's cornbread mix has lard and is not good for people who do not want to consume animal fat. They must change their recipe to include vegetable oil instead of lard.

Have you considered making frozen cornbread muffins or something like the frozen biscuits?I believe they would really sell great.I have never seen any that's why I asked. You could make them like the biscuits but it would be cornbread.
