There are some very important steps to take to make sure you create the most effective and efficient site. There are six steps that need to be taken before you can actually design your site. A web site creation strategy will help you create an efficient and effective website when you state your purpose, generate a goal, determine your audience, find a host, sketch the navigation and layout of the website, and then finally, design the site. Upon completion of these six steps, you will have created a well thought out web design strategy.

The first step in creating a strategy is to state your purpose of your website. In order to create a strategy, you will need to take several factors into consideration. What is the purpose of the site? Is the main reason for creating the site to inform people of something or is to sale a product? Is the website for personal, business, education, or just for entertainment? An example of a business site would be one that a company creates to sell or inform consumers of a product or service A personal website could be a family website that informs other family members about the growth and development of your newborn baby. These are just a few of the questions that you will need to think about while coming up with a purpose.

The purpose of your site will help you generate your goal. Your goal will be based off of the motivation for building a website. If the purpose of the site is for commerce, you could set a goal to increase your sales of a certain product by ten percent. The goal needs to be specific and quantitative. If the purpose is to be informative or any other purpose, then you will need to set a goal accordingly. A goal will help you determine which items or ideas to promote the most on your site.
