Several months ago, I was sitting in a meeting with some other marketing professionals and we had a very exciting conversation about blogs and blogging. We were all intrigued and interested in how blogs could best be used as another tool in the marketing and advertising tool box. At first, it was assumed that blogs and blogging were just for the teenage and college set, but now blogs have popped up that are geared toward a plethora of individuals, dealing with just about every subject imaginable. With all that "communicating" going on, how can your business take advantage and utilize blogging to increase awareness and sell product and services? Some of the larger blogs are starting to show up fairly regularly on search engines which makes them even more valuable as a marketing tool. For example, when an individual types in a product name or an item they are searching for, there is an increasing likelihood that blog information may pop up. Getting your product or business mentioned on these blogs and in web content can generate interest in your operations.
So, how can you take advantage of this? One way is to hire a writer to create articles, blogs and web content that features your business and products. If you do a little research online, Googling your town or area and searching for freelance writers, you can find ones that work in your area. You can also try doing some web research on your town, field of business, state, etc. to see what is already out there in terms of blogs and websites. You may be able to post some information of your own on these available sites.
You may have noticed that lists and tips are really big on the internet right now. Articles and blogs that list the "top ten toy stores in XYZ town" or "5 tips on how to buy a widget" are showing up all over the internet. Getting your business and/or products into articles like these can generate a great deal of readership and interest.
