There are unfortunately many children who have difficulty dealing with their emotions. The first thing that you will need to realize is that this is really perfectly normal for a five year old to experience a few problems when it comes to emotions since they are still growing and learning. But what many parents become overly concerned with is when their five year old reacts in a violent or aggressive manner. This article will discuss some of the possible causes for that type of behavior and the possible solutions that may help a family to cope. When it comes to a five year old being able to control their emotions it is very possible that difficulty doing this can mean that there is some type of learning disability.

If you suspect this to be the case then you should immediately have your child evaluated. Remember that the earlier a problem is found the better affect that the treatment will have. If there is no disability found than it is possible that it is your child’s environment, either in school or at home. You will have to take a look at both and see if there is anything causing the emotional distress. For example has their recently been a divorce or a big move within the family? Has the recently been a new addition to the family such as the birth of a baby? There are many things that can occur at home which can suddenly cause a five year old to begin acting out. Unfortunately when it comes to the public school system most of them would just prefer to medicate them in order to keep them subdued and quiet.
