When people think of a Hooters restaurant they probably think they are trashy and tacky, as well as non-family oriented places that guys go to booze it up and stare at boobs. Well, in some ways that is true. It is a tacky, somewhat trashy place. However, that brings a certain charm to the place. As their motto says "Delightfully Tacky, Yet Unrefined". If you have ever been to the one in Honolulu, you may know what I mean.

Hooters of Honolulu is a fun restaurant. I'm just as insecure as the next woman, who would rather her husband not go and eat and stare at the waitress. However, I've noticed that at this Hooters, while the waitresses are definitely very attractive, the guys spend more time eating 911 Hot Wings, drinking beer and watching sports than paying too much attention to the "Hooter's Girls". Not to mention the "Hooters Girls" are too busy making funny faces at the adorable babies in the highchairs to try and steal anyone's husband. I think Hooters and it's girls are definitely a victim of stereotyping. While there may be Hooters and "Hooter's Girls" in other places that fit a skanky stereo type, I have to say that all of the ones that I have been to, especially the one in Honolulu are very family oriented. They love kids and bring them balloons and give them tons of attention. Also, I have heard of women complaining that the waitresses completely ignore the wives and flirt with the husbands. I have never seen this myself. I love the waitresses at Hooters. I have always found them to be extremely friendly. They have always loved interacting with my little boy, ever since he was a baby. Even when I was pregnant they would strike up conversations with me and talk about how great kids are and how old their children were and they would give me advice. You don't often hear great things like that about Hooters.

Takeaways
  • Not all Hooter girls live up to the stereotype.
  • The Hooters in Honolulu is family oriented.
