How Do I Avoid a Divorce?

Divorce is oftentimes a result of miscommunication in a marriage. A lack of communication and compromise can quickly lead to endless arguments and quarrels. #1. Confront issues head on. Do not let issues linger endlessly if you want to avoid divorce. If your spouse is constantly muttering things under his or her breath, ask them about it. Divorce prevention is best accomplished through open communication and understanding. Avoiding divorce is not possible with lies and muttered frustrations.

#2. Try to find mutual interests. Married couples trying to avoid divorce should try to find time to spend together and do something that both can enjoy. This will allow the both of you to appraise your emotional connection. Is it still there? If it is, a candlelight dinner might be just what is needed to re-spark it and prevent divorce. Avoiding and stopping divorce means rekindling your bond.

#3. Be friends as well as partners. A marriage without friendship is not likely to last very long. The bond from a great friendship is great for preventing divorce and keeping your relationship strong.

#4. Be prepared for the ups and downs of a marriage. No marriage is perfect. Every marriage is wrought with occasional disappointments and failures. I emphasize OCCASIONAL. Very constant disappointments are not a good sign. Nonetheless, realize that you must express anger at times. But to avoid divorce, express that anger tactfully.

#5. Do not cheat. It is normal to develop an attraction to others. Married people are human too. The key is to not let those hormonal reactions deter you from remaining faithful. The best way for avoiding divorce is to remain committed and faithful to your spouse through thick and thin.
