Questioning Ozzy

Ozzy does alot of strange things and here is one of them. Leave me a comment if you have any ideas of why he might do this.

My kitties like to "help" me out when I'm weeding in the yard. They roll in the dirt. And rub on the leaves. They just like being rolly pollies! I always throught they were just showing me how much they enjoy "helping" me in the yard. They'll do it in the house on the carpet, too, if they're in a happy mood.... I think Ozzy is just posing for you. He's definitely smiling for the camera there. Beautiful pictures of him.

He's probably just attracted to the smells on the wood. Maybe another animal has marked it, and he's marking it with his own scent to claim it as his own just like the big cats do in the wild. It's harmless, and he likes it.

Dear Tranquility Ocean It is normal, every cats hints their nails at a wood, I bougth to my kitty an artificial tree and she is always there hiting her nails, sleeping somethimes she start running form the kitchen to her tree and she start bitting and hitting her nails against the tree, they need training and care their nails.

That looks like a railroad tie to me, for what ever reason some animals are attracted to the creosote that the ties are dipped in, it is an old tie it is not dark like fresh anymore. You may not be able to smell but the nose of an animal can. Or he has chosen that spot as his and he is marking it well with glee, lol

My guess there is something in the tree that is atracting him. It could be the sap.

Strange. I have cats that react in the same manner to catnip.
