GAYS IN THE MILITARY  

My uncle, who fought in Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts, was in the Army. He died recently and when I ran across the article, Gays in the military, in the 3/25/07 issue of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, I wondered what he would have thought about this issue.
The United States has maintained its "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy on gays in the military since 1993. So what about the UK, France, and other countries in the EU? How do those armies and navies handle the issue of gays in the military?
