We've gone through the undercard of UFC79 so now it's time to see what the main card holds for us. We have the two obvious fights in Liddell v. Silva and Hughes v. GSP but there are others fighting on Saturday that have put themselves on the line for us.
This is it. Shake the nog induced grog that's making your head ache. Forget about mixing it up with the rest of the soccer moms at the malls. The last great battle of 2007 UFC79:Nemesis is about to go down this weekend. Let's see if us newbies can make any sense of it all.
UFC79 was as action packed as we thought it was going to be. We saw some amazing fights and the results were surprising in some of the bouts but most of them finished like we thought they would.
Are we really here? Just last month we were a buzz over one of the greatest matches in UFC history with the Liddell/Silva fight in UFC79. We are now at UFC81 looking forward to a former WWE wrestler's debut on the freaking MAIN CARD??!?
Preview of UFC85's fight card. The big players here were Matt Hughes and Michael Bisping. Turned out pretty interesting.
UFC 85 really spelled the end for Matt Hughes' career in MMA. The younger faster stars on MMA just won't have some old duffer trying pull old tricks beat them. Still, Matt is a definite Hall of Famer, if there is such a thing in MMA.
Trouble comes in threes people and this month is NO exception. We've got major events from the UFC, WEC and EliteXC all happening within a week of each other. UFC 84 is scheduled for Saturday, May 24th.
We now know who will be in the championship, Mac Danzig vs. Tommy Speer. It's a great match for die-hard UFC fans. For fair weather newbies that are fans of the TUF6 show, it's an incredible let-down.
UFC 80: Rapid Fire is being held in Newcastle in the UK. For most of us here it is a ho hum card. BJ Penn has some interest for us. TUF experts will note that there are at least two stars from that series doing battle here in Penn and Grove.
A lot of us have been waiting for UFC83 to happen. The Ultimate Fighter 6 promised us a fight between the two coaches. Finally Matt Serra and Matt Hughes will fight for the Championship... err oh yeah! Make that Matt Serra and Georges St-Pierre.
